Partners with Management

We invest our capital and partner with management teams in order to build significant, long-term value.

Our primary role is to provide advice in developing a corporate strategy, to offer financial guidance on optimizing capital structures and completing fold-in acquisitions, and to assist in recruiting senior executives and building out a value-added board of directors. We also bring an extensive track record of helping companies navigate initial public offerings as well as complicated mergers and acquisitions.

Our Managing Directors offer more than 75 collective years of private equity experience, averaging 15 years per Managing Director. We have a robust pool of talent, with more than 20 investment professionals in our Greenwich office and have invested in more than 100 growth companies across a broad range of health care industry segments.

Alignment of Interests

Approximately eight percent of the capital invested in each of our private equity investments comes from the Great Point Team. This ratio is very high among private equity firms. We align our interests with our managers, profiting or losing when they do, hence, we “eat our own cooking.” This high co-investment ratio comforts management teams that a commitment by Great Point is both a personal and fiduciary one on behalf of our limited partners.

Investment bankers and other financial intermediaries count on our ability to respond quickly and confidentially to transactions. We also maintain long-standing relationships with experienced operating executives (including our CEO Advisory Board), lenders, lawyers, accountants, executive recruiters, and industry analysts who may be helpful to business owners.

Long-Term Partnership with Management Teams

We enhance the value of businesses through sourcing fold-in acquisitions, assisting with executive and board recruiting, and providing strategic and financial advice performed over a period of years.

Shareholder Liquidity

Many privately held businesses have inactive or retired shareholders who want, or in some instances, need liquidity in the form of cash. At other times active shareholders may want liquidity to diversify their net worth.
